Smooth-Sil 940 Food Compatible Ovenable Mold Silicone Smooth-Sil® Platinum Silicones offer very low shrinkage rates while curing at room temperature. With a choice of different hardnesses to choose from, Smooth-Sil® products offer a great deal of versatility and are ideal for making molds of any type, large or small. These silicones exhibit good chemical, abrasion and heat resistance. Afterwards; Materials such as plaster, concrete, wax, low melting temperature metal alloys or resin (urethane, epoxy or polyester) can be poured into these silicone molds without the use of any release agents.

General features

Smooth-Sil® Platinum Silicones are used for rapid prototyping, wax casting (foundries and waxmakers), architectural restoration and concrete casting. Smooth-Sil® 940 is also suitable for food related applications.

IMPORTANT: Lightly apply the release agent to all surfaces of the model with a soft brush, in order to apply it thoroughly to the entire area. Then apply fine spray paint and let dry for 30 minutes. If you have doubts about the effectiveness of a Sealant/heart release additive combination, it is recommended that you do a small test run using the same surface that will be used in your project for testing.
